INTERACTIVE CARDIOLOGY WORKSHOP

07 NOV 2019 09:00 - 17:30

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the third interactive workshop focusing on cardiology for equine practitioners. The speakers’ list again includes the world-renowned veterinary cardiologist Professor John Bonagura from the North Carolina State University, and he is joined by Prof John Keen, Dr Katharyn Mitchell, Prof Colin Schwarzwald, Prof van Loon, and Prof Lesley Young.

The morning session will focus on clinical pathophysiology of equine heart disease and a “how to” session on echocardiographic measurements. The interactive cases will focus on sounds and murmurs commonly encountered in practice and echocardiography case discussions.

In the afternoon, the focus shifts to diagnosing arrhythmias during and after exercise, again including an interactive ECG reading session. The course will be concluded with a session on novel technologies and their use in daily clinical practice. As usual, this workshop precedes the 2019 Autumn meeting of the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (VCS) to be held at a new venue in Warwickshire. All BEVA members will be able to register for 1 or 2 days of the VCS autumn meeting for the same rate as their own members. Over these two days, there will be a comparative theme covering small animal, human and equine cardiology (details will be announced by the VCS: http://www.bsavaportal.com/vcs/Meetings). The VCS meeting promises to stimulate lots of thought. Day 1 will be completed with the very social annual VCS dinner, to which BEVA members are also cordially invited.

Aimed at established vets, suitable for RCVS modules B-EP3, C-E2 and C-E16

Course Fees:
BEVA Members £175
